About

Darren Tsang, known professionally as Humothy, is a London-based documentary photographer whose work bridges cultural divides through authentic, visually compelling storytelling. Shaped by his multicultural upbringing, Darren explores the aesthetics of insider, outsider, and liminal spaces, capturing the subtle humour, rawness, and shared humanity of everyday life across both digital and analogue formats.

His sincere, imaginative style puts subjects at ease, creating images that feel both intimate and universal. Passionate about amplifying diverse voices, Darren sees photography as a tool for cultural dialogue, building an evolving archive that informs, inspires, and challenges future generations.

Beyond the lens, Darren co-founded Rise United Football Club, a grassroots initiative fostering community and visibility for East and Southeast Asian+ individuals in the UK. He also co-runs 1314FAMILYSTYLE, a creative studio rooted in cultural storytelling, brand strategy, and photography. Named after the Chinese slang for “forever,” the studio draws inspiration from the spirit of communal dining and shared identity.
